Bringing Solar Energy to McDowell Lake

July 3, 2015

Pictured below are the solar panels destined for the McDowell Lake installation. Travelling by truck to Red Lake, the panels will be loaded on a transport plane and flown to the remote community, to be installed on the roof of the new band office.  This 10 kW solar system, with a battery solution, will generate enough electricity to power the community fridge and freezer – a welcome addition to McDowell Lake. The install will take place the week of July 6.
